FAQs
What types of clients do you work with?
I primarily work with clients with significant movement or pain concerns stemming from neurological (e.g. stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, traumatic brain injury) and/or musculoskeletal injuries (tendinitis, fractures, strains/sprains, chronic pain).
What does musculoskeletal mean/What is the difference between neurological and musculoskeletal injuries?
Musculoskeletal typically refers to clients with muscle, bone, and/or joint injuries. The difference between clients with neurological and musculoskeletal issues is primarily where the movement dysfunction stems from, i.e. the brain or the body.
It is not uncommon to see clients who primarily have a neurological injury (e.g. stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury) who also have issues with their muscles, bones, and joints.
Likewise, treatment methods typically effective for clients with neurological injuries are very effective for those with muscle, bone, and joint injuries, often finding the root of the pain and movement dysfunction and treating it very effectively.
Does my private insurance cover in-home Physiotherapy?
Yes! Private insurance can cover Physiotherapy services.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Yes. Please let me know if you need to cancel a session 24 hours prior to our appointment. Otherwise, you may be subject to pay 50% of your treatment fee, which would not be covered by your insurance plan.
Do I need a referral to see a Physiotherapist?
No. Physiotherapists are primary healthcare providers in Canada. This means that you can see a Physiotherapist WITHOUT referrals from your physician. However, some insurance companies require a prescription from a licenced physician for reimbursement.
Does OHIP cover physiotherapy?
Some clinics in Ontario are able to bill OHIP directly for their Physiotherapy services. My services are NOT covered under OHIP.
In which communities do you provide Physiotherapy Services?
I work out of a private Physiotherapy clinic in North York, ON, called Physio-Logic Rehabilitation Services. I see clients from all parts of the GTA, including North York, Markham, Brampton, Mississauga, and Downtown Toronto.
